Repsol and Enagas supply, for the first time in Europe, LNG as fuel to a vessel from a regasification plant

Repsol and Enagas have for the first time in Europe supplied LNG directly from the regasification plant to a vessel using flexible cryogenic hoses.
The Canadian flag asphalt tanker Damia Desgagnés, propelled by three possible fuels (heavy fuel oil, marine diesel oil or LNG) received 370 m³ of LNG in the largest bunker operation to date in Spain which lasted 5 hours.
Previously Repsol had supplied through tanker trucks.

The operation has been possible thanks to the adaptations that are being made at Enagás plant jetty in the port of Cartagena and is part of the project Core LNGas Hive, co-financed by the European Commission, to develop an integrated, secure and efficient logistics chain for the supply of LNG as fuel.
