Stevedores call for three weeks of strikes at ports beginning March 6

The unions of dock workers have called a calendar of strikes in ports, which includes nine days of partial strikes starting next March 6, which being scheduled on alternate days, will be extended for three weeks.

The announcement was made by the main union in the sector after the meeting held with the employers and the mediator designated by the Government, who just forwarded the intention of the Ministry of Public Works to approve the reform next Friday.

The call does not imply a new break in the negotiations that, in fact, continue tomorrow.
Trade unions are urging the government to postpone the reform of the stowage until there is an agreement with the sector.
